In Country and Metropolitan Venues throughout New South Wales, one day development camps are conducted for both U/14 and U/15 age group players (boys and girls). These camps are conducted by Basketball New South Wales staff and/or appointed program coaches, with players being provided with both skills development and game play development during the day. In this setting athletes are also identified by the coaching
staff, with a number of players being offered the opportunity to participate in a further (two day) development camp.
Approximately 80 x U/14 (top age only) and 80 x U/15 athletes identified from the one day development camps through New South Wales are invited to attend their respective age group Two Day Development Camp. Again these camps are conducted by Basketball New South Wales staff and/or appointed program coaches, with players being provided with both skills development and game play development during the two days.
In this setting athletes are again identified by the coaching staff, with a number of these players offered the opportunity to participate in a further (three and a half day) development camp.
Approximately 40 x U/14 (top age only) and 40 x U/15 athletes identified from the two day development camps are invited to attend their respective age group Three and a half Day Development Camp (T.A.P.) These camps are conducted by Basketball New South Wales staff and appointed program coaches, with players being provided with both skills development and game play development during the three and a half days. These T.A.P Camps are conducted at the Sydney Academy of Sport Narrabeen.
Association Representative Team Coaches, club and school coaches are encouraged to participate in the Waratah Program in capacities such as floor and camp head coaches, depending on their experience.
