About the Metropolitan Development Program (MDP)

Over 3 consecutive Sundays in October each year, BNSW conducts the MDP - a Skills Development Program open to all metropolitan players (of any standard) and coaches with the U/11, U/13, U/15 player age groups.

To be eligible for participation in the MDP, players must be a registered member of a BNSW metropolitan basketball association, and be under the particular age of their respective age group in that calendar year (i.e U/11 player cannot turn 12 in the same year).

In 2008, the MDP format has changed from previous years, with the first two Sundays in October (12th & 19th) being Skills Development Days only (no player identification or selections).  Players will be accepted into these days on a "first in basis", with approximately 40 positions available in each age group and gender.

Following their participation in the MDP, players in the U/11 age group will be invited to participate in Pre Games (curtain raiser games) before the NBL West Sydney Razorbacks and the WNBL Sydney Flames (games dependant upon availability).

The third Sunday (26th) will be an Open Tour Trials Day for players in their respective age groups (U/13 & U/15's only) to be considered for possible inclusion in the Metropolitan Tours Program, with players in the U/17 age group considered for possible inclusion having been identified from their participation in the U/17& U/18 Metro Tour Trials Camp
