Eltham Dandenong Tournament - Friday 23rd to Monday 26th January, 2009

Pacific Coast Slam - Wednesday 13th to Tuesday 19th January, 2009

East Coast Challenge - Tuesday 6th to Friday 9th January, 2009

  MDP - Identification and Selection for Tours

On Sunday 26th October 2008, BNSW will conduct an Open Tour Trials Day for all players wishing to trial for possible inclusion in an MDP Tour Team (U/13 & U/15 player age groups).  U/17 players are identified for possible inclusion in a MDP Tour Team through the U/17 & U/18 Metro Tour Trials Camp.

All trialing players will be identified by Senior Panel Coaches, Head Coaches, and Floor Coaches, with their recommendations for possible player inclusion then submitted to the BNSW Coaching Department for consideration.

At the conclusion of this process of observation, consultation and evaluation, the BNSW Coaching Department will make the final decisions on identifications and invitations for possible inclusion in MDP Tour Teams for each respective age group.

Please note the following:

• Only "top age" boys and girls (turning 13 in 2009) will be eligible for possible inclusion in the 2009 U/14 Player Age Group tour to Eltham.

• Players turning 14 in 2009 will be eligible for possible inclusion in the 2009 Pacific Coast Slam Tour to Port Macquarie (U/15 teams).

• Players turning 15 in 2009 will be eligible for possible inclusion in the 2009 East Coast Challenge at Hills (U/16 teams).

• In some instances, players eligible for possible inclusion in the Pacific Coast Slam may be invited to participate as bottom age players in the East Coast Challenge (U/16 teams).

PLAYER TRIALS ARE OPEN TO ANY REGISTERED PLAYER - NO EXTRA CONSIDERATION WILL BE GIVEN TO ANY PLAYERS WHO HAVE ATTENDED THE TWO EARLIER MDP DEVELOPMENT DAYS

  Tour Trial Schedule

In 2008, players wishing to trial for possible inclusion in U/14, U/15 and U/16 MDP Tour Teams will be required to attend the following venues on Sunday 26th October.

U/13 & U/15 Girls Age Group

Bankstown Basketball Stadium - Third Avenue Condell Park

U/13 Girls: Arrive at 9.00 to register. Start on floor at 9.30am. Finish at 2.00pm

U/15 Girls: Arrive at 10.30 to register. Start on floor at 11.00am. Finish at 3.30pm

U/13 & U/15 Boys Age Group

Hills Sports Stadium, Fred Caterson Reserve, Caterson Drive, Castle Hill

U/13 Boys: Arrive at 9.00 to register. Start on floor at 9.30am. Finish at 2.00pm

U/15 Boys: Arrive at 10.30 to register. Start on floor at 11.00am. Finish at 3.30pm

  Coaches and Venue Managers

The BNSW Coaching Department will appoint Senior Panel Coaches, Head Coaches, and Floor Coaches for both venues.  Any interested participant coaches and managers from the two MDP development days are asked to contact the BNSW Coaching Department to express their interest for participation in the Open Tour Trials Day.
