2008 / 2009 NITCP Squad Announced

Basketball Australia’s National Intensive Training Centre Program is a model for players & coaches for teaching individual and team fundamentals and also presents aspects of sports science and medicine to become a high level player and coach.
The National ITCP is the key component of Basketball Australia’s national player and coach identification and development strategy.

Basketball Australia’s NITCP was established because of an identified need for a more systematic, thorough and unified national approach to identify and develop outstanding junior basketballers in every State and Territory in Australia.
It was identified that a network of coaches be established and continuing development of this network of coaches be undertaken to ensure the thorough and contemporary delivery of the technical program to the athletes.

The NITCP is an elite youth development program designed to provide coaching and development opportunities to young players. While it operates along-side the BNSW State Junior Representative Teams program, a positions in the NITCP does not automatically mean a position in a NSW state team.
