COUNTRY TOUR TRIALS SCHEDULE 2006/2007 PROGRAM

All trials (except Under 14’s) are be by invitation only. They will all be ONE DAY TRIALS, at single, central venues as set out below.

Congratulations on your invitation to attend the 2007 NSW Country Basketball Tour Selection one day Camp for the Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup to be conducted at Albury and Pacific Coast Slam to be conducted at Port Macquarie.

 

Invited Selection Trial Dates:

Saturday, 16th September, 2006

Boys: U/17 & U/18 at CCYC Stadium, Niagara Park, Gosford

Girls: U/17 & U/18 at Bridgecoast (Gosford City) Stadium, Terrigal

Boys: U/14 Central Coast Grammar School, Terrigal

Sunday, 17th September, 2006

Boys: U/15 & U/16 at CCYC Stadium, Niagara Park, Gosford

Girls: U/15 & U/16 at Bridgecoast (Gosford City) Stadium, Terrigal

Girls: U/14 Central Coast Grammar School, Terrigal

Trial Times: All One Day Trials

Commence: 9.30 am Finish: 4.00pm

Tournament Dates:

ACJBC         Albury 15th - 22nd January 2007 (Games Start 18th)

PCS             Port Macquarie 21st - 26th January 2007 (Games Start 22nd)

PLEASE NOTE THIS CAMP IS A ONE DAY CAMP ONLY AND IS NOT AN OVERNIGHT STAY AS WAS IN PREVIOUS YEARS

 

Selection Process:

  • Two teams to be selected for ACJBC each of U/18, U/16 and U/14 Age groups: Kookaburras and Waratahs.
  • Two teams will be selected for PCS each of the U/15 and U/17 age groups.
  • The teams will be selected to be as equally balanced as possible.
  • These selection trials are the first stage in the Country U18 and U16 State Team Selection Process
  • Final Selection: at selection camp all successful candidates will be issued with a letter outlining tour details

 

PLAYERS WHO HAVE A LEGITIMATE REASON AS TO WHY THEY CANNOT ATTEND THE SELECTION CAMP EG, INJURY, OVERSEAS, WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR SELECTION PROVIDED THEY SUMBIT ACCEPTABLE WRITTEN CAUSE FOR SPECIAL CONSIDERATION PRIOR TO THE CAMP TO BASKETBALL NSW.

INJURED PLAYERS MUST ATTEND TRIALS.

A WRITTEN LETTER AND/OR MEDICAL CERTIFICATE MUST ALSO BE SUBMITTED TO THE BNSW OFFICE PRIOR TO TRIALS

 

Important Information:

  • The touring teams will be announced at the conclusion of the session. They will consist of twenty players who will then be placed into team(s) – as indicated above.
  • Under 17 and Under 15 players are eligible to be selected for either ACJBC or PCS Tours.
  • Only top age U14 players will be selected for the ACJBC Tour. Only in exceptional cases will this policy be varied.
  • Players who are unavailable for State Team Selection are asked to advise Basketball NSW immediately as they will not be selected for Country Tours and therefore will not be required to attend the selection camp.
  • Players selected for the Australian Junior Camp at the AIS in Canberra, January 2007 have an obligation to give that event their priority.

BRING TO CAMP:

  • Training gear, tape and underwrap, water bottle
  • Any medications that you may require
  • Reversible singlet or light & Dark tops
  • Lunch/snacks (lunch is not included in camp fee)
  • Basketball -

             U14 - U18 Women - Size 6

             U14 Men - Size 6

             U15-U18 Men - Size 7

 

ALL PLAYERS ARE REQUIRED TO BE AT VENUE AT 9:30AM ON NOMINATED TRIAL DAY (SATURDAY OR SUNDAY)

ONE DAY CAMPS ARE EXPECTED TO FINISH AFTER ANNOUNCEMENT OF SELECTED PLAYERS AT ARPPOXIMATELY 4:00PM

  • Players are not to leave Venue at any time for any reason. Players are under the control of camp staff at all times over the Trials weekend.
  • Parents are not allowed at camp, except for Medical Reasons – please advise Basketball NSW if your attendance is necessary for your child’s health
